A while back, I started experimenting with recoloring black and white photos. I didn’t have a real reason for it, it just seemed like a fun hobby that would force me to learn something new and make me more proficient with Photoshop. Before I started experimenting I didn’t really do any research. I’m honestly not even sure where I originally got the idea to try recoloring something. In hindsight, I probably should have done at least a little research… it would have saved me a lot of time and more than a few headaches. However, I made my first attempt at colorization in November of last year. The first image I worked on is called “Minnie after work” and was found on the Flickr portfolio of Ming Yan.
Most of you know that I’m a big supporter of the Second Amendment and carry pretty much everywhere I legally can. Well, back in September of last year, a friend was a victim of an armed robbery at a convenience store. He was unarmed and alone, and was accosted as he was leaving the store. After the fact, he approached a group of us and asked what we would do, as armed citizens, if faced with a similar situation.
My more observant followers are likely asking this very question. In fact, there are two things that currently jump out as odd immediately to anyone who’s even a passing reader of my little corner of the Internet. First, this site is suddenly lacking in virtually all content (in fact, it’s basically a complete reboot). Second, this post (and in particular the above video) is far from the kind of thing I normally post. Well, there’s a reason for that.
